How to: Assembly Instructions

Failure to comply with any of the warnings in these instructions may result in serious personal injuries
including cuts, Brain damage, Broken bones, nerve damage, paralysis, or death. Failure to comply may also result in property damage.  Please heed all warnings and cautions to ensure your safety do not attempt to assemble this system without reading and following ALL instructions carefully. Identify and inventory the parts using the parts list. Un-pack your Bench using gloves and no sharp objects and discard packing material to prevent choking hazard.

Before Beginning Assembly
It is recommended that safety equipment be worn to include goggles, gloves, and any protective clothing otherwise recommended by any government agency for assembling benches and or using hand tools.

1-A. Locate and make sure you have all parts using a check mark on the parts list.  Keep the hardware bags and their contents separate by laying them out as shown, If any parts are missing call the Customer Care department.

1-B. Test fit all bolts by inserting them into their respective holes.  If necessary, carefully and gently tap on them to assist in seating the Leg bolts in the wooden holes of the seat assembly.  If gently taping doesn’t work more taping may be necessary be very careful.

WARNING!!!
ALWAYS KEEP HANDS CLEAR OF MOVING PARTS!
DO NOT STAND ON THIS BENCH. Using this bench for anything other than sitting may result in personal injuries or death and is not a great idea anyway.

Tools Needed for Assembly

1. Hammer

2.  Philips screw driver (Note a cordless drill driver is very handy too)

3.  Crescent wrench (note a box end wrench is handy to)

Bench Components

These instructions apply to both The 1940 Mount Rainier Classic
and The Little Mountaineer Table Bench or Child Bench.

After unpacking the Bench from the packing material locate the following parts to insure you have everything to assemble the bench your package will contain the following bench components as shown in Picture #1 to the left:


1 EA. Bench Seat assembly.

2 EA. Bench Leg assembly.
1 EA. Bench Bottom plank.
1. EA. Bag of assembly hardware

Assembly Hardware

After unpacking the Bench from the packing material locate the following assembly hardware and set it out as shown in the picture to the left




 

4 EA. 4 in. 3/8 in bolts

4 EA. 3/8 nuts

4 EA. Washers

6 EA. Wood Screws

Lay out all Bench components as shown below

Carefully note the position of all bench components

Starting the assembly processes

  1. Push the leg bolts through the holes from the outside in as shown in the picture (Note a hammer may come in handy here to tap them through the wood.)
     2.  Push the bolts through the holes in the leg assembly (Note a hammer may come in handy here to tap them through  the wood.)

Install Washers and Nuts

3. Install Washers on to the Leg bolts.

4. Install Nuts on to the Leg bolts

Tighten the Bolts

5. Tighten the Leg bolts securely (Really Tight)

Repeat steps 1-5 on the other side of the bench  so you have both leg assemblies installed.

Install the Bench Bottom plank

6. Place the Bench Bottom plank On the cross members of the installed leg assemblies ensure they are flush with the edges and centered as shown in the picture

Install the Bench Bottom Plank

7. Install the Bench Bottom Plank using a screwdriver. Tightly Drive all the way in the provided wood screws into the center of the cross member board on the leg assembly.     (Note a cordless drill driver is very handy too)
8. Repeat step 7 on the other end of the bench.

Your Finished enjoy your Bench

It is recommended that you periodically check to make sure the Leg Bolts are tight.  We recommend checking them once every two weeks.
